In this advanced studio we will work with a variety of advanced and specialized studio lighting techniques in commercial, fashion, and still life studio photography. Through technical demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and creative assignments, students will learn the methods to refine their vision. Employing flash, strobe lighting and advanced lighting modifiers students will explore the expressive, emotional and physical characteristics of different types of light in real-world scenarios. Emphasis will be placed on refining and combining these technical skill sets into innovative images and sustainable working methods in a collaborative work structure. Students will be work in creative teams and seek collaborators that may include models, prop stylists, make-up artists, and clothing and product designers. This course is one in a suite of electives in photographic processes.

Open to: Bachelors degree in Photography majors and Photography minors, juniors and seniors only; others by permission of Photography program. Pre-requisite(s): PUPH 2110 Core Studio 2 or PSAM 1060 Light and Image.
