The class will be divided into two modules – Responsive/Content module and Playful/Exploratory module. In the first module we will cover Responsive Design methods and ideas, UX processes, prototyping and wireframing, content strategy etc. In the second module we will learn some basic Javascript and apply it to the existing HTML/CSS knowledge. We will also cover some jQuery and talk about various plugins. The purpose of the second module is to encourage creation of web projects that maximize interactivity/ storytelling/playfulness and experimental net art. Throughout the course, students will be developing front-end dev skills and also utilizing existing toolkits and platforms to most efficiently develop websites. The homework assignments will be a series of small exercises along with two long-term involved projects. Open to: AMT Sophomore students only, open to non-majors
