In the first of this two semester capstone sequence, students will research,develop and articulate a thesis problem and start drafting prototypes, while documenting their design process through digital archive, written assignments and presentations. Critiques from Parsons Paris faculty and guest lecturers will give students the opportunity to hear different perspectives on their project throughout the year. Thesis requires a finished project or proposal along with a written component to communicate the public presentation of the work. This process prepares students for the transition from undergraduate studies to the professional world. Thesis 1 & Thesis 2 are a yearlong selfdriven investigation into the research, prototyping and design of an identified problem, providing an opportunity for design innovation following an appropriate methodology, and building the project in different ways and on various trajectories. The goal of the first semester is to research, develop and articulate the thesis problem and goals towards the deliverables of an initial prototype, including designed presentations of research, and process from the entire semester. Thesis requires a finished project or proposal along with a written component to communicate the public presentation of the work.
