This course explores photography as a living practice, applying visual, conceptual, research skills within the documentary paradigm and the editorial form. Students will be encouraged to develop their voice and their visual language in both personal and group assignments. The course encourages narrative construction, sequencing, editing with virtual and physical tools. The final output is to produce a printed and bound publication reflecting the projects. Photo Editorial seeks to provide students with a set of skills that will expand their knowledge and experience in photography, editing and developing their voice may it be conceptual, narrative or journalistic. Engaging with the world and the students subjects is an important element of the class, basic interviewing and writing will be expected and required for each project.
