In this seminar students will prepare a dissertation prospectus. The seminar includes a range of workshops that will assist students in this task: understanding the elements of a prospectus; distilling key questions; articulating a research approach; situating one’s work in scholarly traditions and debates; reflecting on the writing process, styles of writing and writing for different audiences; translating a prospectus into versions suitable for grant applications and spoken accounts of research specialization. Students will prepare, present and revise a draft prospectus and critically engage each other’s work.
