Lang Academic Fellows
Eugene Lang College Lib Arts: Lang College
Course Reference Number: 4952
Credits: 4
Lang Academic Fellows are nominated by faculty to work with individual courses with which the students have some familiarity. Fellows work closely with faculty, attend that course on a semi-regular basis throughout the semester and meet frequently with students in the course to work with them on their writing, reading, and their academic practices. The emphasis of the program is to help students with the broader intellectual, creative, and critical thinking that goes into their writing as well as general work as students. In addition, all Academic Fellows meet once a week in a seminar to study the theory and practice that goes into this kind of mentoring. (Note: Academic Fellows must be nominated by an instructor; following the nomination there is a short interview process with the Academic Fellows instructor. The course is by permission only. Most Academic Fellows are nominated in the previous academic year, but there are usually spaces for late nominations).
