This course focuses on the theory and practice of individual coaching as a method for helping managers develop their skills and improving theirperformance. By the end of the course, students have a working knowledge of how coaching can best be used, and what a coach needs to do to be effective. We discuss the conceptual foundations for the task of changing a successful adults behavior within an organizational setting. Alternative coaching models are examined, and students start forming their own coaching models. Coaching is performed on a limited basis so that each student can explore the experience firsthand. Elective in the Leadership and Change and Strategic Human Resource Management areas of specialization.
