Enrollment limited. Permission required. Students gain a deeper understanding of the role multisensory learning plays in all levels of a young child's development based on the intricate relationship between the brain and body. Using the Ways of Seeing program, they learn how to apply this perspective across a continuum of infant/childhood mental health practices, from typical parent-infant relationships to various special populations. Through lecture, video, worksheets, and experimental participation, students come to understand the role of movement in development and learn age-appropriate movement, dance, and play activities that enhance the physical, cognitive, communicative, and social/emotional development of children.
