The New School Publishing Institute is a five day course on new modes of book publishing for newcomers, entrepreneurs and industry veterans alike. We offer a smarter, faster, more intensive look at what’s happening in this rapidly changing industry. Whether you are considering a start-up operation, currently work in the field, or are a writer who wants to understand possibilities for your work, we provide an overview of the entire publishing process. What are sub rights? How do you, as a writer or publisher, reach readers? We present a lightning-fast review of what’s what and who are some of the major players in the industry, with a focus on new possibilities. Directed by publishing veteran John Oakes (OR Books), and featuring class visits from some of the most interesting editors, publishers and agents in the business.
