They learn how to write with precision of thought and language, unimpeded by the inner critic. Exercises in class and weekly writing assignments help students establish disciplined work habits. The instructor critiques all student work, suggesting revisions and guiding serious writers toward publication. Assigned readings provide models of subject matter, style, and form.
