This course is an introduction to the world of JavaScript and aims to teach universal programming patterns using real world examples and integrations. We will learn JavaScript the right way and write code using modern coding patterns, connect and REST APIs, get introduced to popular frameworks like React, prototype applications like simple Blockchains, experience server-side scripting using Node, and integrate with cloud-based databases and A.I. APIs. Over the years, JavaScript has become a very flexible and expressive language and has been widely adapted by the programming community to create very powerful applications, web and more. It is also the perfect language for a web designer or datavis student to be introduced to coding and go beyond. By the end of the course, the student will be able to create functional modules using universally recognized development workflows.
