In this course we will examine the roles and contexts of fashion public relations in the media and marketplace. We will learn how to research and analyze media and events, and how public relations can be an effective tool in both large and small scale companies, globally and locally. We’ll explore the different formats of public relations such as pitches, launches, events, and how these formats are applied across various media platforms and to specific audiences. In addition to conducting research and analysis, students will craft their own written and visual materials that utilize the principles of public relations in practical applications. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have created and presented a portfolio of their own work. Open to: All university undergraduate degree students. Online sections are open to Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing majors only; others by permission.
