In this introductory class, we will experiment with a range of creative strategies to examine ideas and current theories regarding and surrounding the medium of photography. In addition to developing of critical skills and vocabulary the course will be supplemented by the production of visual projects. Through weekly readings, presentations, exercises, and discussions, the class will locate each student’s interests within contemporary image culture. This course is about making through thinking, and is designed for the student who wishes to explore conceptual approaches in their work.
