Students will learn the fundamental tools of the craft of screenwriting. The course, over 2 semesters, will follow the development process, from the story, through outline/treatment and culminating in an original full-length screenplay. Additional course work includes weekly examinations and analysis of screenplays and films by established screenwriters and film-makers; with an emphasis on the early establishing work of these artists, and especially by those who with a playwriting background.
Students who wish to enroll in a graduate theater course at The New School for Drama must be accepted into the graduate theater program as a full-time student.
