Third Year Playwriting is a course very focused on the form of a full-length play. It is part of the Three-Year Curriculum in several ways; one being that this course and the play the students write in it is part of their thesis grade, it is a course also that can incorporate and reflect much of what has been taught in co lab, writing one act plays, etc. and an opportunity to apply those skills here while learning the new, more demanding skill set that is mandatory for a longer, more classic play. This course focuses on the art, craft and completion of a full-length play – with an emphasis on structure.

Students who wish to enroll in a graduate theater course at The New School for Drama must be accepted into the graduate theater program as a full-time student.
