During this studio-based elective students will learn how to conduct, analyse, and interpret visual research in the context of the fashion industry. The course will provide students with the methods, techniques, and tools required to build up a personal, consistent, and relevant fashion design research methodology. The course will also emphasize on the importance of editing research as a critical part of the process. Students will learn to better understand the process of translating 2D elements into shapes, details, colors, and fabrics, as well as how to document and present their compiled research. The final project will focus on developing, documenting, and presenting visual research that will lead to a coherent collection. Open to: Fashion Design Junior students only Prerequisite(s): Design Studio 1 and 2 - Creative Technical Studio 1 and 2.
