Mannes Voices is a new performance opportunity for enthusiastic singers and musicians from all majors and programs, both undergraduate and graduate. The ensemble is open not only to singers, but also to composers, theorists, collaborative pianists, pianists and other instrumentalists with a keen interest in singing and a robust musical appetite. Each semester, students learn and perform challenging repertoire of all periods and styles (including new music) for vocal ensembles of various kinds, a cappella and with instruments, with the repertoire tailored to each semester’s participants. Mannes Voices demands a very strong commitment to attendance and preparation as well as to personal and collective artistic growth, especially in musicianship. The ensemble can be taken in any semester and students may register as many times as they wish, subject to approval.
