To provide a working knowledge of the basic anatomy and physiology of the vocal tract/larynx that helps the singer rationalize the exercises they perform; to understand the differences between the singing and speaking voice in order to avoid vocal fatigue/tension during connected speech; to introduce techniques that maintain an efficient coordination between the respiratory/phonatory/resonation subsystems, in order to ensure vocal health and longevity; and to understand the basic principles of vocal tract resonance, and how these principles directly affect your ability to project the voice without effort. Open to graduate singers, as well as undergraduate juniors and seniors with permission. .
