This ten-week-long class will survey piano repertoire written by female composers. The inquiry will span from baroque to contemporary era. There will be two online performance projects as well as discussions, research, social media, and project based learning. Featured composers will include: de la Guerre, Martinez, Bon, Szymanowska, Farrenc, Jaell, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Smyth, Chaminade, Boulanger, Tailleferre, Carreno, Beach, Price, Crawford-Seeger, Ustvolskaya, Gubaidulina, Taaffe-Zwilich, Saariaho, Tower, Chen.
