This course, available for all CoPA undergraduate students, examines techniques for effective group facilitation, including but not limited to: methods of community building and tools for addressing conflict, strategies for strategies for centering equity and inclusion in group settings, techniques for cultivating brave spaces and active listening, and peer-to-peer mentorship. In addition, this course will cover The New School’s anti-discrimination policies and student conduct agreements. This course will be a prerequisite for students intending to function as CoPA Affinity Group facilitators, and will provide students with the skills necessary to foster dialogue in a variety of settings and with a variety of constituencies.
