Network Arts Ensemble

Spring 2021

Taught By: Jane Ira Bloom and Sarah Weaver

Section: A

CRN: 9524

Credits: 2

In this course students will explore live performance via the internet with geographically dispersed artists in chamber and large ensemble settings. The course will examine strategies for improvisation, composition, performance practice, and technological tools in network arts. In practice the ensemble will have chamber group projects and culminate in a large ensemble performance. Network arts collaboration promotes a broadening of standard music and arts parameters for students, opportunities to develop abilities to communicate creative ideas to players outside their own artistic vocabulary, and provides training for the expanding contemporary arts landscape.
