Intro to Phenomenology
Fall 2024
Taught By: John Noras
Section: A

CRN: 17578

Credits: 3

In this seminar course we will develop a close analysis of one of Husserl’s later works, Cartesian Meditations. The purpose of the book was to serve as an introduction to Transcendental Phenomenology by presenting its basic notions, such as reduction, intentionality, constitution, evidence and objectivity, which is an inter-subjective accomplishment. Participants of the seminar are not required to have prior knowledge of Husserlian Phenomenology, while those who specialize in it will deepen their scholarship through the close reading of the text, which is to be supplemented with secondary sources.
