During the second semester of Vocal Musicianship, singing of four modes of the major scale on the first, second fifth and sixth degrees is emphasized as well as the singing of triads (I IV V). Students apply these concepts to improvising rhythmically on multiple pitches in solfeggio and scat within a single mode and on the I, IV and V triads in both major and minor.
