Beckett opened the passage to the 1960s in general and to post-modernism in particular, including the destruction of the modernist project, the theatre of the absurd, the problem of identity and the post-Freudian subject. In this course we will situate his writings in the context of the 50s and 60s and explore their impact on film, TV, journalism as well as literature.
