This is a January 2021 intensive course. It will meet between January 4-17. See the exact meeting dates and times below. Students in this course will study and practice audio journalism, learning hands-on techniques for critiquing and reporting news relevant to the New School community in this extraordinary moment. Emphasis will be on developing reporting, storytelling, and production skills for today's public media environment, using both the new constraints and freedoms offered by our virtual community. Students will learn to identify and research stories; interview subjects and sources; and how to create and produce brief news stories and features. Completed assignments will featured on WNSR, New School Radio, the New School's Internet-based radio station.
