[medium or elective] This course will move past the fundamental elements of visual design in journalism and explore advanced concepts such as dynamic and responsive layouts, designing templates for database-driven presentations, and working with CMSs and scripted publishing systems. Students will also be introduced to slideshows, parallax, movement and animation in journalism. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, as well as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are required to be successful in this class. To register, students must have taken Design for Journalists I and received a grade minimum of "B", or seek the permission of instructor.
