"Frantz Fanon’s text, Black Skin, White Masks, is a seminal text in critical race theory and decolonial philosophy. This course will involve a close reading of the text. His argument articulated the ways that traditional Enlightenment concepts such as freedom and human dignity, fail to accommodate the specificity of racial oppression. Ultimately, the course will focus on a radical politics that is opened by Fanon’s conceptions of race. "
