The aim of this course will be to deal with philosophical questions surrounding art and those concepts (among which are beauty, taste, pleasure) which shape our encounters with it. Throughout the course, we will read excerpts from a number of philosophical texts, ancient as well as contemporary, while occasionally engaging with examples from other media (such as film and music).
