This seminar course explores the psychological processes underlying social judgment and behavior. Topics may include identity formation, stereotypes and prejudice, stigmatization, dehumanization, theory of mind, anthropomorphism, and social status. Students will engage this area of research from a variety of theoretical perspectives, including evolutionary theory, social learning, and cross-cultural frameworks. Prerequisite: One Lang fundamentals course, or ULEC 2160, Introduction to Psychology with a grade C or higher.
