This studio workshop supports the core courses is the Documentary Studies curriculum. It is designed to introduce students to the technical concerns that arise when producing documentary media. The objectives of the course are to familiarize students with the tools and skills necessary to produce high-quality audio and video recordings, and to foster critical thinking with regard to the use of image/sound recording technology in documentary production. Over the course of the term we will move from acquiring basic technical skills to a consideration of more complex production scenarios. We will particularly focus on your documentary production kit, examining the specifics of each unit separately and in combination with other recording devices.
