ESL 1600 is designed to help you become a more confident reader and writer of academic English. We will explore a variety of reading genres, including fiction, newspaper and magazine articles, and a graphic novel to develop fluency and understanding of cultural contexts. Students will read and write about a range of topics including photographs, paintings, fashion, design and constructed environments through both a communicative and thematic syllabus.

Open to: Parsons undergraduate and AAS degree students who have tested into NELP 1600 & 1650 on the placement exam. Co-requisite: NELP 1650, ESL 1650 Communication Skills.
