This undergraduate course offers an exploration of humor throughout French cultural history, focusing on the development of advanced speaking, writing, and critical analysis skills in French. The course features the study of French-language media and graphic arts, which include, cartoonists, satirists, comedy filmmakers, women humorists, political caricaturists, and contemporary stand-up comedians. Students will endeavor in semester-long projects related to current events and cross-cultural analysis. [In French] Proficiency: intermediate-high or advanced level proficiency in French is required.
