n this advanced French language course, students will be introduced to film genres and directors from France and Quebec. The course examines a wide-range of film texts that address socio-political and cultural issues, including: ethnicity, gender and sexuality, bilingualism and biculturalism, and United States influence. Film analysis will be complemented by a selection of readings and other culturally-relevant media. The course is conducted entirely in French; students should have advanced-intermediate to advanced French proficiency.
