This course will equip students with the knowledge and technical skills to create, produce, edit, and promote a communications strategy featuring multimedia tools. Students will learn the basics of branding, multimedia content creation (including short videos and podcasts), scriptwriting, creating communications and social media plans, as well as storytelling fundamentals. Over the course of the semester, students can expect to craft, execute, and publish a cohesive communication strategy to promote a particular research project or story. Some experience filming and editing video is helpful for the course, though not necessary.
