This Spanish-language undergraduate course offers an overview of women's artistic production in Spain and Latin America throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. The course intends to review women’s artistic discourses and aesthetics in order to see how these intersect, reflect, disrupt or resist canonical literary movements throughout the Hispanic world. The genres studied include, manifestoes, poetry, short stories, reading selections from novels, as well as films and documentaries. Students will familiarize themselves with both canonical and contemporary authors by completing writing assignments and oral presentations. Spanish proficiency at the intermediate-high or advanced level proficiency is required.
