This is a workshop-style language course geared towards high-intermediate to advanced Spanish-language students that are interested in theater and performing arts.  The course's goal is to embark on a cultural and linguistic journey of Spanish-language theatre and performance, by discussing texts authored by Latin American, Spanish, and US Latina/o writers. While focusing on a wide-range of societal issues, including, language, race, and class, the nature of the Workshop combines both discussions on the readings and also a creative approach on developing students' creative interests, from playwriting to dramatic exercises, particularly, scene acting, diction practice, and other projects aimed at improving oral and writing skills in Spanish.
