In this writing studies course, students develop rhetorical, grammatical, and stylistic skills while delving into the themes, characters, and high stakes of political writing during the 2020 presidential election. Together we consider key contemporary writers who are shaping public discourse such as Rebecca Solnit and Charles Blow. We experiment across forms and modes to produce new literary journalism of our own.
