Imagining the City

Fall 2019

Taught By: Andrew Bernheimer

Section: A

CRN: 7782

Credits: 3

How can we see the city for what it is---and then, for how it might be? This elective is a drawing class overlaid with reading and writing. We will draw NYC in detail and whole, in a variety of media, analog and digital, and we will simultaneously read and write about cities. We will stretch our imaginations into less familiar territory to engage with urgent issues. We will lean into drawing both fast and slow, to tease out insights and epiphanies about living among others, in density.
