This seminar explores through research, readings, and the creation of hands-on physical models the more subtle often overlooked areas in design detailing; sound and haptic senses, including how our body feels touch, temperature, pressure, and movement. Students experiment on detailing how materials and forms behave or interact with the body. Projects are experimental in nature, and look towards creating meaningful touch-points in products, architecture, and interiors. Please note there are seats reserved in this course for IDD majors.

Open to: All university graduate degree students and upper level undergraduate students by permission only. Pre-requisite(s): none.
