Through this course, students will participate in a “guided tour” of sorts - into our faculty’s design practices, unexpected professions and the city we love. Offered predominantly asynchronously, the course will reimagine the role of artists and designers and emphasize connections across many disciplines. The course will serve as a counterpoint to major choice, illuminating the potential to make one's own path and impact, regardless of major. In the class we will embrace the journey of engagement and exploration that is a life in art, design and strategic thinking. Assignments will use the city as a research site and allow individuals and groups to engage with local sites, museums and neighborhoods.

NOTE: In-person instruction will not be extensive; the in-person component is a single session. This hybrid course will be conducted per appropriate social distancing and current city health and safety guidelines. Format for the one required in-person and on-campus class session is TBA. Open to: priority will be given to Parsons First Year students in the NYC local area.
