Through this course, students will examine the connection between place and creative practice, using their locations around the country and world as inspiration. Offered predominantly asynchronously, the course will reimagine the role of an artist and designer and emphasize connections across many disciplines. The course will serve as a counterpoint to major choice, illuminating the potential to make one's own path and impact, regardless of major. In the class we will embrace the journey of engagement and exploration that is a life in art, design and strategic thinking. Assignments will use student’s locations as research sites. This seminar course will include guest speakers, response writing, sketchbook development and creative research.
