Playwriting 2.1

Fall 2018

Taught By: Stephen Karam

Section: A

CRN: 1398

Credits: 4

Playwrighting 2.1 and Playwrighting 2.2 provides a critical link between the explorative and elemental work of the 1st year's scenes and short plays and the production of a full-length, produced thesis in the 3rd year. The work in Playwrighting 2.1 and 2.2 covers the full development process, providing the student with sharpened analytical skills of the written text and (along with work in CoLab 2.1 and Colab 2.2) a first hand understanding of the problems and opportunites occurring in the rehearsal of plays as it's interpreted by actors and directors.

Students who wish to enroll in a graduate theater course at The New School for Drama must be accepted into the graduate theater program as a full-time student.
