This year-long collaborative course is composed of 3rd Year MFA Drama students during the Fall Semester and expands to include students from Media Studies, Parsons, Jazz, Mannes and Lang during the Spring Semester. Fall Semester -- 3rd Year MFA Drama students study the principles of film form, theory and practice through a series of lectures, discussions, hands-on seminars, practice exercises and various short film projects. The Fall Semester serves as both an introduction to Cinema for Drama students and as a development period for longer narrative media produced during the Spring Semester. In addition to performing the roles of your individual disciplines of study, MFA Drama students will learn and practice the principles of cinematography, audio recording and video editing.
