The mask is an ancient tool. Through a series of exercises explored in our classroom work, the masks will provide a short cut to the freedom of the imagination and the mystery of personal unconscious realms. By honoring the uniqueness of the individual and the complexity of our composition we will explore, discover and learn how to use the physical body as an instrument. Students will make discoveries that will lead them toward many of the elements essential to the language of the actor. This course fulfills the movement elective pre-requisite for advanced acting courses at the School of Drama.
