Voice & Movement
Spring 2021
Taught By: Alba Quezada and Cynthia Reynolds

CRN: 9286
Credits: 3
This voice/breath/body elective fulfills both the voice and movement requirements for BFA actors in an exciting way. This course offers students an opportunity to explore their own work through the techniques of Alexander and Linklater. These deeply connected vocal and physical methodologies both share the tangible work of freeing the body, breath, and vocal mechanism of unnecessary habitual tension that blocks the free flow of energy in movement and voice. As the energy frees, the actor’s emotional life also frees and the actor learns what it is to be fully seen and heard as they practice standing up for themselves and the character in moments of speaking their truth.
