Drawing is medium and method, noun and verb, product and act. It is corporeal and time-based, developing journeys, erasure, overlay and accumulations, embodying thought and finalising artefact. It is a tool for prototyping ideas across disciplines, mapping relationships, structuring sequences, and imagining environments. This AMT studio course develops this object-process nexus by exploring drawing as a powerful creative practice in its own right, as well as an expansive, interdisciplinary practice—taking in still imagery, time-based processes, spatial investigations, analog and digital forms. Through sustained, iterative making, students engage themes of personal and collective memory, identity, and narrative as generative frameworks for both conceptual inquiry and material experimentation.
