Collab: Mediating Art & Cultural Heritage This course gathers designers and cultural professionals together in a collaborative hands-on investigation of the tools and methods used by museums and heritage sites to manage, mediate, and promote art and culture within society. As audience expectations and existing technologies constantly evolve, museums and heritage sites must continually reinvent their storytelling techniques and mediation strategies to offer an experience that is inclusive and relevant to contemporary audiences. Through academic discussions, field research, and design prototyping, students will learn to create analog and digital mediation tools for real-world clients. As students apply their design skills within a professional setting, they will better understand the opportunities and constraints facing cultural clients in the private and public sector.
