Advanced Thesis Research
Fall 2024
Taught By: Tuomas Laitinen and Miki Omori
Section: PC1

CRN: 15616

Credits: 3

In this course, students learn to identify broader sets of options and resources for their future practice-based thesis research. They apply a mix of methods to transdisciplinary collaborations that shed new light on their individual fashion design and art practices. This exploratory phase is mentored by the Paris faculty for both students who intern and students who stay on campus for the fall. The research provides a theoretical framework for the MFA thesis and leads to the identification of the thesis topic, field of action, context and collaborators, as well as the definition of the most appropriate design and production strategies and curatorial approach.
