Intro to Accessory Techniques and Leather 2
Parsons Paris: Parsons Paris
CRN: 19563
Credits: 3
In this elective studio course, students build upon foundational accessory and leather techniques. Expanding on introductory skills, the course explores pattern development and sustainable material applications specific to leather. Students investigate how traditional accessory techniques can inform garment-making processes, including seaming, reinforcement, edge finishing, and hardware integration at a larger scale. Through research, sampling, and iterative prototyping, students develop a garment prototype accompanied by comprehensive documentation of their process and design outcomes. The course supports the refinement of technical skills and professional studio practices while reinforcing sustainable and responsible material approaches.
