"During the Fall semester of Year 2, students can study in NYC or undertake an internship within a company, art workshop or cultural institution in Paris or elsewhere. The choice of the internship follows the interests and goals of the students in relation to their future capstone work and professional orientation. The placement process initiates in Year 1, supported by the MFA faculty, Parsons Paris career development office, and external mentors. Students can also choose to conduct an ethnographic fieldwork during this semester and gather data for their MFA Thesis project. They can stay in Paris or settle in the location where the extended field research should take place during the fall semester. Each student will have to design and implement an individual fieldwork project based on a series of interview and observation sessions, following a topic validated by the MFA program director before the end of Year 1. The student will share written notes, photographs, and report data from the field on a weekly basis."
